MINI SYMPOSIUM: VASCULAR NETWORKING at Berlin Institute of Health
The biology of vascular networks, their development, dynamics, function and plasticity are of central importance to a wide range of disease processes. This mini symposium seeks to highlight state of the art approaches in vascular biology by two outstanding scientists: Christer Betsholtz, a true pioneer in vascular pericytes and growth factor signalling, and Michael Potente, a Cardiologist turned molecular vascular biologist, with an exciting focus on transcriptional and metabolic regulation of vascular quiescence and plasticity. In addition to sharing new insights, the symposium provides discussion and networking opportunity for the cardiovascular community in Berlin, including DZHK, BIH and MDC. It is further intended as a local MDC satellite to the BIH Welcome Symposium “Closing Gaps in Cardiovascular Disease Research and Therapy” 9th December 2014.
